DHR Board to meet July 21 in Atlanta

MATLANTA (GA) -- The Board of Human Resources will hold its official monthly meeting from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, in room 29.250, Two Peachtree Street N.W. in Atlanta. The board will hear reports from Department of Human Resources Commissioner B.J. Walker and from Board Chairman Bruce Cook, and vote on nominations to the Renal Dialysis Advisory Council; a proposal to add community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection resulting in severe illness or death to the list of notifiable diseases in Georgia; and a public hearing on the proposed revision of Rules Chapter 290-7-1 on recovery of fees for reviewing child support cases. The official meeting will follow an information session to hear committee reports, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the same location.

From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the board will meet in committees to continue their review of all DHR programs. The committees and meeting room locations at Two Peachtree Street are: Aging, 9th floor, room 270; Family and Children Services, 19th floor, room 490; Public Health, 15th floor, room 470; Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases, 22nd floor, room 270; Regulatory Services, 33rd floor, room 264; and Information Technology, 29th floor, room 270.

All Board of Human Resources meetings, including committee meetings, are open to the public.
