Office of Procurement and Contracts

The Office of Procurement and Contracts (OPC) helps plan, manage and implement the procurement of goods and services that enable the Department of Human Services (DHS) to meet the needs of the citizens of the state of Georgia. As a fiscal gate-keeper for DHS, OPC has the responsibility to ensure that all goods and services are procured in accordance with the rules and regulations put in place by the Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) and the policies and procedures of DHS. 

OPC provides the following services in support of the divisions of DHS:

  • Solicitation/Strategic Sourcing assistance
  • Develop and manage solicitations including Request for Quotes (RFQ), Request for Proposals (RFP), and Request for Information (RFI), Request for Qualified Contractors (RFQC)
  • Technical support on requisition entry
  • Requisition management
  • Development, review and execution of contracts
  • Scope of Services guidance
  • PeopleSoft contract management
  • Procurement & Issuance of Purchase Orders (PO)
  • P-Card & Travel Card management
  • Technical support for contract services
  • Training on best contracting and procurement practices
  • Vendor Management
