New self service feature provides GA DFCS clients with easy access to case information

February 28, 2014

ATLANTA – Georgia families now have an easier way to access information about their benefits.

The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) now offers automated self service options on its Georgia One communication line, placing basic account information at the fingertips of families enrolled in the Food Stamp, Medicaid and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families programs in Georgia.

The new automated feature provides clients with their case status, benefit amount and the date of their next renewal.  Clients must provide the main client identification number associated with their benefits to access automated services.

To access the options:

  1. Dial 1-877-423-4746.
  2. Press “2” for DFCS.
  3. Press “1” for automated services.

The new feature seeks to improve DFCS customer service, eliminating the wait for clients with general questions about their benefits. There are plans for additional enhancements as the agency receives feedback from clients about the service.

In addition to the new phone feature, benefit recipients can also access account information, apply for benefits or report changes to their accounts online at www.compass.ga.gov.
