ATLANTA — The Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Aging Services (DAS) is now accepting public comment for the development of a new Intrastate Funding Formula.
The Division will use the comments to develop the formula which helps determine how funds are distributed to Georgia's 12 Area Agencies on Aging (AAA).These organizations and their partners then manage the funds to provide in-home services and supports for older adults, people with disabilities, and caregivers.
Comments should be provided by June 30, 2014 at http://aging.dhs.georgia.gov/comment-funding-formula.
DAS coordinates with 12 AAAs identified by geographical boundaries. All community-based services for older Georgians are coordinated through these agencies. AAAs are effective advocates for the needs of Georgia’s aging population.
