DHR honors Gainesville resident for exemplary community service

ATLANTA (GA) The Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR) will honor Anderson Flen of Gainesville, Georgia at the 2007 Public Employee Recognition Week Awards Luncheon. The luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 11:30 a.m. at the Freight Depot located at 65 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, in Atlanta, Georgia. DHR’s Commissioner, as well as the Executive Management Team will present the awards.

"Anderson Flen is an exemplary model of the type of DHR professionals on our team," said Public Health Director Dr. Stuart Brown. "Our employees are the backbone of our organization, and we are proud to recognize Anderson Flen for his outstanding efforts in community service."

Flen has dedicated himself to improving the health and well being of the males in the Gainesville Public Health district. Flen has worked diligently in the area of public awareness regarding the importance of men and boys seeking healthy lifestyles, medical treatment, and making the health department more geared towards men’s health issues.

The Georgia Public Employee Recognition Week was re-instituted in 2001 in an effort to recognize the outstanding accomplishments and commitment of state of Georgia employees . It is administered under the leadership of the Georgia Merit System, in conjunction with state agencies and departments. The success of Georgia government is dependent upon the efforts of its dedicated and committed employees. To honor and recognize state employees for their unique and diverse achievements, innovative ideas and dedicated service, various events will be held throughout the week of May 7-11, 2007 at the state and agency level.
