Glenda McCaskey named new deputy director of Muscogee County DFCS

COLUMBUS (GA) Glenda McCaskey has been named new Deputy Director for the Muscogee County office of the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Janet Oliva, state DFCS director announced today.

A graduate of West Georgia College with a degree in sociology, McCaskey has been with DFCS since 1975. She began her career as an eligibility caseworker, and subsequently as General Services and Protective Services manager, and later as a Child Protective Services (CPS) investigator. She has also served as a Social Services Supervisor with responsibility for CPS investigations, Adult Protective Services, Intake, General Services, and Family Services.

In 1984, McCaskey moved to the state office as a Social Services Consultant working with as many as 18 counties across Georgia. She was named Unit Chief of Consultation and Support-South in April 2001.

She is a native and current resident of LaGrange.
