We are proud to present the 5th Senior Hunger Summit following over a year of unprecedented efforts to address senior hunger amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Join us on Tuesday, June 15, for a day of programming that will focus on the work occurring across the state and nationally to address senior hunger. We are also excited to be awarding our first recipient of the Senior Hunger Corporate Leader Award.
Each year since 2016, the Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Aging Services has sponsored the Senior Hunger Summit. The summit covers the five focus areas of the State Plan to Address Senior Hunger (published December 2017). The focus areas are today’s seniors, health impact of senior hunger, food access, food waste and reclamation and meeting the community needs. The summit brings together a diverse group of experts, policymakers and community stakeholders to heighten awareness of senior hunger in Georgia and nationally, unearth issues accompanying the problem, highlight best practices and seed opportunities to combat senior hunger. Register today for this free, informative and exciting opportunity!
