Make the holidays brighter for older and disabled adults
Don’t let someone feel forgotten over the holidays. Can you spread light to a person under guardianship? Help older Georgians and adults with disabilities experience the delights of the season by donating a small gift.
First, learn more about the guardianship program: the Department of Human Services may be appointed as the guardian of last resort when the probate court deems that a person needs guardianship services and there is no one else who can assume responsibility. Are you ready to send your support and good cheer to someone under guardianship?
Here’s how you can make the holidays full of joy:
- Email [email protected] to request a short list of gifts that someone would appreciate. You are free to choose just one item or everything on the list. (We recommend striking a balance between practical and enjoyable gifts.)
- OR visit our Amazon Wishlist to purchase items.
Shop and have fun!
If you decide to purchase items in-store, pack the gifts in a mailing box and ship it to the following address by Friday, Nov. 20:
DHS Division of Aging Services
Attn: Jennifer Hogan/ DAS Light Up The Holidays Gift Drive
2 Peachtree St., NW, 33rd Floor
Atlanta, GA 30303
Once mailed and received, you will receive a donation receipt.
Enjoy the glow that comes with spreading joy to your fellow Georgians. Thanks for lighting up the holidays with the Georgia Department of Human Services.
