Demand for professionals in aging field increasing
During Careers in Aging Week, DAS is proud to join our state and national partners in bringing greater awareness and visibility to the career opportunities in older adult services. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Georgia has the ninth fastest growing 60 and older population and more than 20% of Georgia’s population will be 60 or older by 2030, an increase of almost 34% from 2012. As a result, the demand for trained professionals to care for our aging communities is rapidly increasing.
This week, we are sharing what it’s like to work in older adult services. We will highlight those currently working in the field and provide educational opportunities for those interested in a career in aging. DAS has resources and opportunities in universities, senior living communities, hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities and other workplaces for those eager to excel in the aging industry. With demand at an all-time high, a career in this field means rewarding work helping Georgia’s seniors maintain their health and independence. Follow our DHS Facebook page as we share interviews with some of our employees and about available opportunities with DAS!
