ATLANTA — The Department of Human Services (DHS) is hosting its second Employer Symposium March 28 at the Marriott Atlanta Century Center.

“It is a huge undertaking to ensure that financial support for these children is as smooth a process as possible,” said DHS Commissioner Robyn A. Crittenden. “It takes a great deal of coordination between the state and employers to remove as much friction from the process as we can. We are committed to better communication and collaboration now and in years to come.”

The Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) developed the symposium in support of the division’s relationship with the employer community. The first symposium was in June 2018 in Waycross.

Presenters will provide information about the different programs DCSS offers, focusing on the Federal Income Withholding (FIW) process, Georgia New Hire, National Medical Support Notices, driver’s license renewal procedures, and promotion of the Georgia Employer Hub located in Gwinnett County.

It will feature a Q&A session with a panel of subject-matter experts to encourage employer engagement.

Employers are encouraged to attend the event, even if they have not yet RSVP’d.

Employers have the option of attending the morning session between 9 a.m. and noon, or the afternoon session between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
