Support Georgia’s brain health
June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month — an opportunity to talk about the importance of brain health. Join us this month as we spread awareness on how to maintain good brain health and how you can help our state become a more welcoming, safe and accessible place for people living with dementia.
With an estimated 140,000 Georgians living with dementia, it’s important that Georgia stays committed to a dementia-capable future.
This month, a new initiative called Dementia Friends, is available to Georgia’s communities to help them learn how they can become better friends, neighbors and relatives to people who live with the disease.

Still want to do more? The Georgia Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association suggests the following ways for you to get involved:
- Take the Purple Pledge at alz.org
- Join the Alzheimer’s Association in wearing purple on June 21, and share photos of yourself, family, friends and coworkers wearing purple via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. with the hashtags #ENDALZ and #GoPurple.
- Participate in The Longest Day®, a sunrise-to-sunset event to honor those facing Alzheimer’s disease with strength, passion and endurance. Visit alz.org/Georgia for more information.
Follow us all month long on Facebook and Twitter for ways to stay engaged during Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month.
