DFCS Director assesses storm’s impact on Food Stamps
Tom Rawlings, interim director of the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, will meet with the media after touring Southwest Georgia to assess the impact of Hurricane Michael on recipients of Food Stamps and other benefits.
His tour is also to meet with DFCS staff to thank them for their dedication and work during these trying times when most of them also have suffered from the ravages of the storm along with the local residents they are serving.

About Georgia DFCS
DFCS administers The Georgia Food Stamp Program (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a federally-funded program that provides monthly benefits to low-income households to help pay for the cost of food. DFCS is responsible for issuance of SNAP, Medicaid, TANF and childcare assistance to low-income families; assistance for out-of-work parents to help them get back on their feet as well as multiple support services and programs to help families in need.
