ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) has received an award for its innovation and successful implementation of a state-of-the-art applicant tracking system, which streamlines hiring and other personnel actions for Georgia’s largest state agency.

The award for “Best Managed Insight and Onboard Implementation” was presented to DHS during the 2018 NEOGOV Conference Oct. 10-12 in Las Vegas. NEOGOV Inc. designs and develops human resources software for the public sector. More than 6,000 public agencies use the company’s software.

The DHS system, called HR PASS (Human Resources Personnel Actions Self-Service), was phased in across all the agency’s divisions and offices statewide in the spring and summer of 2018.

“The credit for this award goes to our Office of Human Resources and Office of Strategic Planning and Initiatives,” said Interim DHS Commissioner Gerlda Hines. “What was once primarily a paper process is now automated and standardized, so the onboarding process can be much quicker. HR PASS is vital to the development of a robust workforce that strengthens and protects the most vulnerable Georgians.”
