DHS said the Richmond DFCS office will open at its new location – 520 Fenwick Street in Augusta – on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. This is the previous location that closed in 2017 due to extensive structural damage and was rebuilt. Richmond County DFCS currently sees walk-in customers Tuesday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will continue these hours in the new location.

The new office building will house staff providing economic assistance and child welfare services to more than 60,000 families in Richmond County.

Doors will close at the current location on Old Louisville Rd. on Friday, Feb. 3.

Ongoing updates will be posted at dfcs.georgia.gov/locations/richmond-county and on the DHS social media pages. To report instances of child abuse or neglect, call 1-855-GA-CHILD (1-855-422-4453). For assistance with economic assistance or other DHS services, please call 877-423-4746.
