Atlanta, GA – Some clients have contacted the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) because their Gateway account displays an “approved” SNAP renewal, but they have not received their benefits.

Due to this issue, clients may see a case status of “approved” without an issuance date or with an issuance date showing the last month they received SNAP benefits. In these instances, the case status of “approved” means the client’s case remains open because they submitted a renewal that is now waiting to be processed. It does not mean that benefits have been issued.

DHS is actively working to identify a more user-friendly interface to explain a client’s current case status. DHS will share updates as we work to identify a system reporting fix through our social media channels.
