Locate your individual registration number for child support services

The Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) uses internal and external measures to ensure that each customer’s information is confidential and tracked at every step of the child support process.

The Individual Registration Number (IRN) is an identifier unique to each customer. This number allows customers to register for the DCSS On the Go mobile app and Customer Online Services Portal where they can view case information, manage debit cards and direct deposits, view payment history and more.

Each customer is assigned an IRN when a child support case is opened, and is registered by DCSS staff members to gain access to the internal DCSS tracking and reporting system. Unlike a case number which identifies a specific child support case, the IRN identifies each person associated with a case. A case can consist of multiple people, including a custodial parent and a noncustodial parent. The custodial parent and noncustodial parent will each receive their own IRN for use in the mobile app and portal.

There are two ways customers can locate their IRN.

Official correspondence from DCSS
The first way is by reviewing official DCSS correspondence sent to individuals involved in a case. The IRN is listed at the bottom of every official letter from DCSS.
