Clark’s Christmas Kids 2021 - It’s That Time of the Year!
Each year, the Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS) Division of Family & Children Service (DFCS) operates a program called "Clark’s Christmas Kids" to help make the holidays brighter for children and youth in Georgia's foster care system. This year so far, requests have been received for more than 7,000 children in 100+ Georgia counties. For the last few years, Clark’s Christmas Kids has allowed children to ask for three items with a cumulative value of no more than $150.
Last year, with the help of Clark Howard, WSB News Talk-Radio, and Chris 180, we provided gifts to over 8,000 foster children in 130+ counties. All events were held virtually from the studio of WSB-Radio. Unfortunately, due to restrictions imposed by COVID-19, the program will be virtual again this year and there will be no in-store Walmart events. All events will be held virtually from the studio of WSB-Radio, however, we still need your help! Your donation will allow us to purchase gifts, transport them to our distribution facility, and get them into the hands of Georgia’s foster children on Christmas morning. Any contribution you make will get us closer to meeting our goal of three gifts per child.
These are children who have experienced major traumatic events early on in their lives due to no fault of their own. Because of abuse and/or neglect by adults, they will be away from their families, their pets and familiar surroundings during the holiday season. Please consider donating now to make their Christmas morning a bit happier.
Community members who would like to fulfill wish lists for Georgia’s youth in foster care can make a donation on our website OR by visiting our new virtual shopping website.
The Clark’s Christmas Kids program is just one of the ways that our child welfare system partners with local communities to help improve the lives of youth who may have suffered trauma, as well as support children who are away from their families during the holiday season. Thank you in advance for your support of this important initiative!
