Medicare Open Enrollment Begins Oct. 15

Medicare Open Enrollment is Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. 

The Georgia State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) offers free, unbiased information and is here to help you determine which Medicare plan is best for you. Individuals with Medicare can receive health and drug plan comparisons to lower costs or find extra benefits.  

Every year, it pays to compare plans. 

Now is the time to consider your options. 

Open enrollment offers recipients a chance to look at all your Medicare plan choices for the year ahead, like prescription drug plans, Medicare Advantage, and supplemental (Medigap) plans. 

Plans change. So can your health needs. 

Medicare plans change each year, so don’t assume your current coverage is still your best choice. Review your current plan, costs, and health needs, then see how other plan options compare. 

Reevaluating your options annually pays off. 

Each year when you take a few minutes to review other plan options, you may find better coverage, extra benefits, or lower costs.
