June is National Reunification Month
June is National Reunification Month, a time to celebrate family and increase support for the families working to achieve permanency through reunification. We also use this time to celebrate the accomplishments of families who have overcome challenges to reunify safely and successfully.
During National Reunification Month, you can partner alongside the Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Family & Children Services to:
- Celebrate the success of families who’ve fought through adversity and hardships to reunify.
- Recognize the vital role that community partners – including mental health and substance abuse providers, courts and judges, foster parents, and countless others – play in helping reunite, strengthen, and support families.
- Inspire other parents, particularly those going through the recovery process, that it is possible to confront and resolve the issues that led to their separation and to safely reunify with their children.
This year’s theme, “We Believe in the Resiliency and Strength of Families,” highlights the importance of recognizing the determination and strength our families possess, and solidifies our efforts to partner alongside them as they work toward their goals.
