Canton child support office moves to new location March 30

The office at 2782 Marietta Highway, Suite 100, will close its doors permanently at the end of business today.

Low income, elderly and disabled Georgians will receive assistance with cooling their homes beginning on April 1, 2020

Eligible residents may apply for cooling assistance through the Division of Family& Children Service’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) beginning April 1, 2020.

DOE/DFCS are partnering to encourage families with school-age children to use district-issued student devices to access online SNAP, Medicaid or TANF applications rather than visit the local county office.

The Georgia Department of Human Services has completed an investigation into an improper disposal of confidential case files.

DHS implements new office protocols in response to COVID-19

In alignment with Gov. Brian P. Kemp’s call to limit in-person contact across the state, the Department of Human Services is implementing new office protocols in response to COVID-19. Beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, all DHS offices will encourage customers to use self-service options and telephonic communication as a primary means to conduct business. Individuals requiring in-person consultation will be seen by appointment only.

2020 State of Hope Application Now Open

Nonprofits, philanthropies, government, businesses, individuals and all interested parties can now apply to receive potential funding, technical assistance and community support from the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) State of Hope (SoH) initiative. 

Forsyth County DFCS announces new location

Forsyth County residents will now need to apply for all services at the new location –  6435 Shiloh Road, Suite C, Alpharetta, GA 30005. 

Cherokee County DFCS announces new location

Cherokee County residents will now need to apply for all services at the new location – 1300 Univeter Rd., Canton, GA 30115.
