Office of Legislative Affairs & Outreach

The Office of Legislative Affairs and Outreach (OLAO) holds the primary responsibility to develop and implement strategies to advance the Department's legislative initiatives and other interests relating to the Georgia General Assembly. OLAO also works to inform and educate the Georgia Legislature and the public, corporate, nonprofit and faith communities on issues related to the Department's programs, services and its customers’ needs. OLAO supports the Divisions’ outreach efforts to bring awareness to the community and develop supports that aid customers on their path to self-sufficiency. In addition to providing support to the Department for legislative matters and customer needs, OLAO provides oversight and coordination of the Department's constituent services.

DHS Presenter Request
Request an agency representative to speak about DHS and ways to get involved in your community. We regularly attend meetings for groups like rotary clubs, chambers of commerce, and faith and nonprofit organizations to discuss ways to help vulnerable children, families and adults. Invite us to speak at your next meeting!
