How to do Business

Doing Business with the Department of Human Services

All state procurement activities are hosted by the Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) website.

All Department of Human Services (DHS) solicitations for goods and services that are required to be bid are posted on the Team Georgia Marketplace website. Therefore, in order to submit a bid or proposal in response to any DHS solicitation a potential supplier must register with the state of Georgia through DOAS.

Registering with the State of Georgia

The first step in doing business with the state of Georgia is to register with the State’s supplier portal system, Team Georgia Marketplace. Team Georgia Marketplace is the state’s electronic procurement application. A potential must be registered in Team Georgia Marketplace in order to take advantage of bid/proposal opportunities with the State of Georgia.

After successfully registering as a supplier, you should keep your address and contact information updated. It is also important to regularly update products and services information through the use of National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP) Commodity Codes. The NIGP Code is a coding taxonomy used primarily to classify products and services procured by state and local governments. These codes are used to contact suppliers based on their relevance to each solicitation.

Once you have completed registration, you can access the Georgia Procurement Registry (GPR) to view and bid on current solicitations posted by DHS.

DOAS provides self-service online training in the form of training clips and quick reference guides under Team Georgia Marketplace Supplier Services. The State Purchasing Division also holds supplier webinars that walk suppliers through the process of bidding on an event. If you need assistance using Team Georgia Marketplace, please contact the Help Desk at 404-657-6000.
